Neurofeedback

Your brain already knows how to learn. Neurofeedback simply shows it, in real time, what to practice.

Drug-freemeasured, brain-based care

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, drug-free training method in which your brain watches its own activity and learns from it. Sensors on the scalp read your brainwaves; software translates them instantly into feedback — a game that responds, audio that swells, a screen that brightens — whenever your brain produces the pattern we're training toward. No electricity goes in; information comes out.

Repeat that loop over sessions and the brain does what brains do best: it learns. Patterns associated with calm, focus, and restful sleep get stronger; patterns associated with anxiety, distractibility, and over-arousal fade. The change is gradual, cumulative, and — because it's learning rather than medication — it tends to stick.

How a session works

  • You sit comfortably while small sensors are placed on your scalp (nothing pierces the skin)
  • Your live brain activity drives visual, auditory, and haptic feedback
  • The training protocol targets the specific patterns identified in your qEEG brain map
  • Sessions run about 60 minutes; most patients train once or twice weekly

What we use it for

Neurofeedback supports care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, chronic pain, PTSD, OCD, and — as a complement to medical care — epilepsy, brain injuries, and stroke recovery. Dr. Damian is board certified in neurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA), and every program is built from your individual brain map rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Is it evidence-based?

Neurofeedback has been studied since the 1960s, with its deepest research bases in attention and seizure-related training. Like any therapy, results vary between individuals — we're careful about honest expectations, and we re-map your brain periodically so progress is measured, not assumed. On average, patients show measurable brain changes within about 20 sessions.
